Some students may require more time to demonstrate mastery than one subscription period allows. Unless otherwise stated in the syllabus, you may repeat assessments within a course one time. In other words, two attempts to successfully demonstrate mastery of any given assessment are allowed.
At the conclusion of each subscription period, a letter grade is assigned to reflect your level of mastery in each course. In addition to letter grades MD and M, you may see a grade of PR. The PR grade may be given to a student who has shown progress in mastering one or several competencies within a given course, but who may not have attempted all assessments. You may earn up to 5 PR grades in a single course.
For course repeated at UW-Parkside, only the most recent credits attempted and the grade earned is used to compute the GPA. All attempts and the resulting grades will appear on your transcript.
A PR grade earned in a course will count as one attempt, but will not be calculated into a grade point average. Should you re-enroll in your course, a grade will be assigned for the second attempt, and this grade and credit value will be used in the calculation of a GPA.
